Kelleher is facing an uncertain future at Liverpool, with the stopper expected to depart in the summer transfer window. The Reds have already confirmed Giorgi Mamardashvili will arrive from Valencia in 2025 in a move which will push Kelleher further down the pecking order. Liverpool's back-up stopper has readily admitted he "wants to go somewhere and be a number one" which has led to speculation about a potential move to Chelsea. However, the Blues are "not interested" as they already have Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, while Mike Penders will arrive in summer 2025 from Genk, according to Ben Jacobs.

Kelleher has been thrust into the first XI this season after Alisson was ruled out with a serious hamstring injury. The 25-year-old has impressed for the table-topping Reds and will surely not be too impressed to drop back down to the bench when Alisson is fit again. Head coach Arne Slot has been full of praise for Kelleher, despite the stopper publicly stating he wants to leave Anfield, but may be unable to keep the goalkeeper at the club past the end of the current campaign.

Kelleher has also been in action over the international break and saved a penalty for the Republic of Ireland in a 1-0 Nations League victory over Finland.
