The former Manchester United winger opened the 2024-25 campaign with a flurry of goals, before then enduring a four-match barren run. After rediscovering his spark, Greenwood has taken his tally for the season to 11 and counting.

Two of those efforts were registered in the final month of the last calendar year, as he helped Marseille to collect seven points from three fixtures. Greenwood was on target in wins over Monaco and Saint-Etienne, with the first of those efforts being a nerveless last-minute penalty.

Greenwood’s exploits are being recognised, as he sits on the three-man shortlist for the latest Player of the Month award. He is joined in the hunt for that prestigious prize by Lille’s Canadian forward David – who has 17 goals this season – and Lyon’s highly-rated midfielder Rayan Cherki.

Greenwood is no stranger to individual awards, having been named Getafe’s Player of the Year during a productive loan spell in 2023-24, and will be back in action after the French winter break on Sunday when Marseille play host to Le Havre.
